SNI Certification Obtained for Indonesia-made Rock Wool Products

The Indonesian government is actively promoting the protection of domestic industries and consumers. The Indonesian National Standard (SNI) is a comprehensive set of regulations covering products, services, systems, personnel, testing methods, and designs in Indonesia. When deemed necessary for safety, security, public health, environmental protection, and/or economic considerations, the implementation of SNI certification can be imposed becomes mandatory (compulsory) by the Indonesian government. In the Mineral Wool sector, SNI 8421:2017 and SNI 8421:2017/Amd.1:2020 standards have been mandatory implemented and effective since December 11, 2024 in accordance with Peraturan Menteri Perindustrian Republik Indonesia Nomor 14 tahun 2024 (Regulation of the Minister of Industry of the Republic of Indonesia No.14/2024). Products subject to mandatory SNI certification must obtain the certification regardless of whether they are domestically produced or imported; otherwise, their distribution within Indonesia is prohibited. Our Indonesia-made Rock Wool products have recently obtained SNI (Standar Nasional Indonesia) or Indonesian National Standard certificate, the national standard established by the National Standardization Agency of Indonesia (BSN). As a result, our products are now officially authorized for distribution within Indonesia. Our subsidiary, PT. NICHIAS ROCKWOOL INDONESIA, is the only manufacturer of rock wool products in Indonesia. Recently, we have received information, mainly from overseas, that the following e-mail addresses has been used to send employment-related fraudulent e-mails demanding money on the basis of an application for employment pretending to be from our company. Example: hiring@nichiascorporation.com This e-mail address is completely unrelated to our company. Currently, our company is not conducting recruiting activities overseas. Beware of Counterfeit PTFE SEAL TAPE!

Products 英語ページに表示 Recently, we were notified by Chinese customs authorities that products suspected of infringing upon our trademark rights (TOMBO™ brand) had been discovered. After confirming the information regarding the suspected items, we filed an application with customs for an injunction. As a result, approximately 30,000 pcs. of counterfeit PTFE SEAL TAPE (TOMBO™ No. 9082) were seized and disposed of by customs, preventing them from being distributed in markets outside of China. Upon investigation using the exporter information provided by customs, we confirmed that the Chinese company attempting to export these counterfeit products has no affiliation with the NICHIAS group or any of its authorized distributors. We kindly ask our customers to ensure that you purchase our products only through legitimate channels to avoid accidentally purchasing counterfeit items. If you come across any products that appear suspicious, please contact us immediately. Please note that we cannot be held responsible for any defects or damages caused by counterfeit products. NICHIAS has been actively combating counterfeit products overseas by utilizing our TOMBO™ brand trademark rights to request enforcement actions, including seizures and export bans by foreign authorities (including police and customs). Revision of GHG emission target by 2030

News 英語ページに表示 In April 2021, NICHIAS Group declared to achieve “carbon neutral by 2050". And established a target for reducing the group's greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, such as carbon dioxide. Since then, the world has been concerned about the intensification of natural disasters and the impact on biodiversity due to the progress of global warming, and to realize a decarbonized society, there is a growing trend toward sustainable economic activities that coexist with nature. Furthermore, the Paris Agreement, an international framework, calls for limiting the global temperature rise to 2°C or less, and further efforts to limit it to 1.5°C. Therefore, our group has revised its carbon neutral declaration in order to further reduce its impact on the global environment and take on the challenge of meeting the Paris Agreement's effort goal of keeping temperature to 1.5℃. NICHIAS Group Carbon-Neutral Declaration Specifically, we have changed our direct GHG emissions (Scope 1,2) target for 2030 from 188,000 tons-CO2eq, a 30% reduction compared to FY2019, to 148,000 tons-CO2eq, a 42% reduction compared to FY2021. Additionally, we have set a new supply chain GHG emissions (Scope 3) target of 25% reduction by 2030 (compared to base line 2021). This new target value complies with the target value of SBTi (Science Based Targets initiative), an international climate change initiative, and we are currently preparing for SBT certification. Aiming to achieve carbon neutral by 2050, our group strongly promoting to reduce GHG emissions in our supply chain by reducing GHG emissions from our own business activities and developing and expanding sales of products that contribute to improved energy-saving performance. We will continue to reduce it.
